Park Details:
Located in the heart of Beacon Hill, the site include 15 structures dating to befor ethe Civil War. These sites relate to the history of Boston's 19th Century African American community. The site includes the African Meeting House, the oldest standing African American church in the US. The sites making up the Historic Site are linked by the 1.6 mile Black Heritage Trail. A memorial to Robert Gould Shaw and the Massachusetts 54th Regiment stands on the trail -- if interested in this story, make sure you see the movie 'Glory'.
