The creation of this sprawling Recreation Area and the area's largest lake, Lake Roosevelt, began with the construction of Grand Coulee Dam in 1941. The Recreation Area now provides opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, camping, hiking and tours of Fort Spokane.
