Park Details:
At the entrance to the great New York and New Jersey estuary, two arms of land stretch across the water forming a natural gateway. The gateway leads to one of the world's greatest ports. The Recreation Area is comprised of Sandy Hook, the Rockaway Peninsula, Staten Island and Jamaica Bay. The Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, 3 forts, 2 historic airfileds and the nation's oldest operating lighthouse are featured in this area.
