Park Details:
When the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railroad crews met on May 10, 1869, at Promontory Summit in Utah, a golden spike was symbolically tapped into a polished laurelwood tie and then a final iron spike was driven to complete the first transcontinental railroad, thus linking East and West for the first time by modern transportation.
