The Little Bighorn Battlefield Monument commemorates one of the last armed efforts of the Northern Plains Indians. The Battle of the Little Bighorn, where Lt. Colonel George Armstrong Custer and close to 260 soldiers met defeat and death at the hands of several thousand Sioux and Cheyenne warriors.
